BUGS BUNNY FILE
A. The central Algonquians are tall, averaging about 173 cm.; they have the typical Indian nose, heavy and prominent, somewhat hooked in men, flatter in women; their cheek bones are heavy; the head among the tribes of the great lakes is very large and almost brachycephalic, but showing considerable variation; the face is very large.

The type of the Atlantic coast Algonquians can hardly be determined from living individuals, as no full-bloods survive, but skulls found in old burial grounds show that they were tall, their faces not quite so broad, the heads much more elongate and remarkably high, resembling in this respect the Eskimo and suggesting the possibility that on the New England coast there may have been some mixture with that type. The Cheyenne and Arapaho are even taller than the central Algonquians; their faces are larger, their heads more elongate. It is worthy of remark that in the region in which the mound builders' remains are found, rounded heads prevailed, and the present population of the region are also more, round-headed, perhaps suggesting fusion of blood (Boas, inf'n, 1905).
The religious beliefs of the eastern Algonquian tribes were similar in their leading features. Their myths are numerous. Their deities, or manitus, including objects animate and inanimate, were many, but the chief culture hero, he to whom the creation and control of the world were ascribed, was substantially the same in character, although known by various names, among different tribes. As Manibozho, or Michabo, among the Chippewa and other lake tribes, he was usually identified as a fabulous great rabbit, bearing sonic relation to the sun; and this identification with the great rabbit appears to have prevailed among other tribes, being found as far south as Maryland. Brinton (Hero Myths, 1882) believes this mythological animal to have been merely a symbol of light, adopted because of the similarity between the Algonquian words for rabbit and light.

Among the Siksika this chief beneficent deity was known as Napiw, among the Abnaki as Ketchiniwesk, among the New England tribes as Kiehtan, Woonand, Cautantowit, etc. He it was who created the world by magic power, peopled it with game and the other animals, taught his favorite people the arts of the chase, and gave them corn and beans. But this deity was distinguished more for his magical powers and his ability to overcome opposition by trickery, deception, and falsehood than for benevolent qualities. The objects of nature were deities to them, as the sun, the moon, tire, trees, lakes, and the various animals. Respect was also paid to the four cardinal points. There was a general belief in a soul, shade, or immortal spiritual nature not only in man but in animals and all other things, and in a spiritual abode to which this soul went after the death of the body, and in which the occupations and enjoyments were supposed to be similar to those of this life. Priests, or conjurers, called by the whites medicine-men, played an important part in their social, political, and religious systems. They were supposed to possess influence with spirits or other agencies, which they could bring to their aid in prying into the future, inflicting or curing disease, etc.

Among the tribes from south New England to Carolina, including especially the Mohegan, Delawares, the people of the Powhatan confederacy, and the Chippewa, descent was reckoned in the female line; among the Potawatomi, Abnaki, Blackfeet, and probably most of the northern tribes, in the male line. Within recent times descent has been paternal also among the Menominee, Sauk and Fox, Illinois, Kickapoo, and Shawnee, and, although it has been stated that it was anciently maternal, there is no satisfactory proof of this.
. . . .

B. 1.
The scribe rabbit comes from a scene on a painted Classic Maya (circa 300 to 900 AD) vase, probably used to hold a chocolate drink.

In the Classic Maya culture (~300 to ~800 AD), scribes recorded important events for royalty using a phonetically-based hieroglyphic script. The Classic Maya depicted scribes as rabbits on vases and murals.

....

2. Waxaklajuun Ub'aah K'awiil or 18 Rabbit (Ruler 13)

18 June 695 AD - 3 May 738 AD
Stelae A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J & 4; Altar S; Lower Hierogplyphic Stairway of Temple 26; Step of Temple 22, Ballcourt AIIb markers, Ballcourt A-III text & markers

3. Stela 4 was raised on the quarter katun, September 15, 726, (9.14.15.0.0 in Maya long count) and marks the high point of Eighteen Rabbit's rule. By this time he was forty-two years old and had been in power for thirty-one years. He had just installed Cauac Sky two years previously to be the new military governor of Quirigua, a town on the Motagua River under Copan's jurisdiction.

Stela 4 continues the themes of Kan Te Ahau and Bolon Kawil, the patron gods of Copan. The image of the ruler, carved again in full round, grasps the black headdress of death and the white Ceiba flower of life. The altar in front of it is a carved globe with spiral drains for blood sacrifices. Eighteen Rabbit shows himself again as the self-immolating king whose repeated blood sacrifices keep in balance the forces of life and death. His altar symbolizes the need for blood to keep the sun revolving around the earth. The inscription harks back to the mythical beginnings of Copan on December 19, 159 CE (8.6.0.0.0 in Maya long count) when the god Bolon Kawil was said to have emerged from death.

At the same time, Eighteen Rabbit resurrected stela 5 which had been dedicated by his father, Smoke Jaguar, on July 26, 667. Stela 5 depicts his grandfather, Butz Chan, facing west and his father facing east, much like stela C. Beneath both stelae, Eighteen Rabbit deposited rectangular altars bound with carved wrappings, and on the one he placed under stela 4 he recorded the birth of his grandfather on April 28, 563. This may be very significant, because where he resurrected stela 5 is very near burial 36, which was an important royal tomb and may even have been the tomb of Butz Chan.

So stela 4 not only displays Eighteen Rabbit as the fulcum between life and death, but directly relates back to the mythical beginnings of Copan. His actions relate as well directly back to his grandfather. I believe that stela 4 represents Eighteen Rabbit's definitive statement of his view of the cosmos and his place in it. It comes as close as anything to his credo.
. . .
Copan's influence first appears outside its mountain valley at Caracol in 534 but it reached its greatest extent under Butz Chan (578-628) and Smoke Jaguar (628-695). Monuments as far away as Pusilha and Nim Li Punit in modern Belize bear their names , while Rio Amarillo, El Paraiso, and Los Higos to the northeast in Honduras also refer to Copan. Eighteen Rabbit records the sacrifice of a lord of Pusilha on stela F and Copan is named with Palenque in a bone carving found in a Tikal ruler's tomb.

. . . .

Translation of Maya (as if it were only one language free of muliple dialects) is a new phenomenom. _Incidents of Travel in Central America, Chiapas and Yucatán_ by John Lloyd Stephens and Frederick Catherwood details the first real exploration of the topic. Later, Caracol was (re)-discovered, like in the 1930s. I was within the first Thousand visitors to sign its guestbook in the Belizean Jungle circa February, 1995.

I like thinking of aboriginal Norte Americanos as lost tribesmen found. Phonetic similarities, cultural and religious comparisons, physical characteristics and stuff like that there, intrigues.

Mayans were never known during the pre-classic period to play reed instruments. I'd like to listen for a polka or hora or shantytown jig. Nah,they valued wild orchids.

WILD CHORD OF THE DAY

In Can't take My Eyes off You, popularized by Frankie Valli, the B section ends with a C7 b3. It is comprised of middle C, the E a major 3d above it, high C and higher Eb on the RH.

BOX OF THE DAY

Gretsch

MUST SEE TV

There is an awards show on this Sunday at 8 PM that promises good live performances from actual musicians. It is heartening to hear real music performed without a net before a millions-wide audience. Hearing Keith Urban and Brad Paisley finding tone is self-assuring. This show will have a light rock focus. I look forward to the Latin language music shows later on. Them peoples respect Accordion.

IT'S ALL IN THE TIMING

My Bakers Dozen was split into Sevens (of 7 x 70 fame, and the neurolinguistic tradition that one can remember seven things optimally), and now Set Lists of One Hour.

LESS IS MORE DEPARTMENT

Lady Ga-Ga, you can be my new Muse now that Miss Trump is off the market. Just stop acting so fucking weird, OK Doll? You are Crazy. Gorgeous. Crazy gorgeous. Literally.

WHAT'S ON

My music stand says a lot about what I will be playing for the next few years. But I got to find a way to sneak a couple more songs ont it. And I have to be happier with a few of them. And I must add some Dire Straits without it sounding like a Dred Zep project.

THROW-AWAY SOCIETY

Do a take in Audacity, export immediately to mp3 to save disk space. No vocals or FX of any kind. upload to 4Share. Rinse.
i voted at about 0830 light turnout maybe missed one primary since 1978. lots of write-ins this time. the local D party often fields no candidate.

The sudio environment
hardwood oaken varnished floor, irish blue paint-over wallpaper -over plaster walls with a big bay window. covered at times with three looping 40 inch wections of padded drapery. the louvered blinds are half the size of the formerly popular Venetian. i see out in the daylight and now - with dalylight savings in effect - others can see in when the drapes are not pulled to baffle sound. i observe a 10 pm rules even though i often wish to play later.

to my right is a 5' x 3' all oak table stained and varnished imported from exotic Connecticut. i sit on my throne with my elbow touching the table and approaching the wireless mouse for recording in Audacity and exporting to MP3. also on desk are monitor kb, phone and speakers along with a Wittner Taktell metronome in piccolo.

the table is at 31" height. ahead of me is a simpole folding metal musical stand. equipped with a 4' long piece of angle iron left over from a suspended ceiling job of some previous decade. Dad would have been alive then. I need four feet just to hold a five-page song. i have some 8-pagers that made the cut.

i have an all-star list at rest of some hard and simply postponed songs. bo rhap mary had a little lamb. others have different challenges. i just dont have the "feel" of a certain dire straits song even though it is more than half-intellectualized.

what i _do_ have on my music stand in from of me are multiple excellent tunes in various stages of knowledge: numbers by Sting, cars, tears4fears, nickelback and more. best of the best of the best. no led zep or frankenstein as of yet but they, too shall come. i am staying away from deep purple.

i play mornings for an hour, look at the clock, hit the rest of the songs of the stand, look at the clock and take a rest.

eat, sleep, watch the joe paterno press conference, check the market. warren buffet today bought burlingtron nortnern and the old santa fe RR for 44 Billions of USDs. he said he "bet the company (berkshire hathaway)" in today's quote, but i remember his previous observations to the effect that he had thus far never bet all his money on any one thing. dairy queen is shabby but they have great onion rings.

on the floor right behind the music stand, with all music ordered by the circle of fifths, is my accordion case with a 15' johnson woofer amp on top and a single amateur mono mic on top pointed to the mid-point of where the accordion sits on my lap. The mic is pointed to the trunk of the music stand itself about 4 inches south of where the angle iron holds my harem of musical mistresses. glen cambell, eagles, neil young, killers, English joe jackson, and more.

to the left fron or downstage left, close to the bay window out of which i see when i peer over the written music, is a red hassoc used for wtoring a 1950s era vaccum sweeper ball. i sat on that red box all the years i took lessons. i practices on it a half hour every school day pretty religiously. sometimes i practiced more.

when i finish 5 or 6 or 7 songs, playing them through once or working on them for up to ten minutes each, i turn them over face-down and place them on the red hassock. moving backward, there is the throw rug to soften the hard floor on my aging Pepsi's Labrador- Shepard -Border collie -bones. behind the rug is the rolltop desk housing Christmas songs on one level and songs I feel I have something of a handl on up above. a red leather bookmark confirms that no one has disturbed the music since me. the drawers and pigeon holds of the rolltop hold tapes ans staplers and clips and other ephemera. behind me is a utility table holding more sheet music in a state of sorting and pre-filing. on the floor is a legal folder with everything else including stuff from the foundation of the New Intermediate School.

Over my right shoulder is a barbulb in a floor lamp crafted by my Grandfather when electricity was new. It has been re-wired.

--
I have been playing the Bell exclusively since last writing. There is a second octave eFlat out on the RH with associated wheeze. everything else is ok.

I have put in new fingerings for chords. E.F. Hutton has me doing the minor seventh and then the same with a flatted fifth. play d minor. 3 on D 2 on the minor chord two buttons behind it. now use pinky to reach to f major hit 3-2-5 fingers pressing those notes for D-d-f-a-F-A-C and get a Dmin7 theb use pinky to alter the A to an Ab by moving from F major button to the F minor button with finger 5. there is the flatter fifth.

another new thing for me is making the major 7th courtesy of a 2-5 backwards maneauver. i am playing a tune with 4 sharps that is really C#min rather than E. i have to hit a D chord after a C# chord so i make a c double-sharp on a 2-5. another place in the same song i have to go form G# to A so I play g double sharp in the counterbass row. once you learn chromatic ascensions on the Stradella, you can get that half-step up everytime. also the half-step down, which i have used on a 2-5 also.

---

there is this vocal device for making anyone sound pitch-perfect. auto tuner or something like that. Cher believe in magic, most of the teeny boppettes, no wonder i am not suprised at how different some performers sound out of the studio in live performances.

--

dave matthews made a deal with the devil their new song on the new goo glucks gland cd is that good. sting has a Christmassy- album out. there is a cool video out by Blue October, an emo artsy harmonic group. the decemberists busked in Royal Oak, MI.

---

I still see "41"s everywhere.

----
Box of the Day

Ottavianelli Taxi

---

I can do major scales by fifths or by major seconds. but when i try to do minor scales, it is hard to do them by major seconds. Am,Bm,Cm, etc instead of amin,Emin,Bmin, etc. and I still feel good whn I play Abmin with no mistakes.

---
the lyrics are somewhat nihilistic, but i really, really enjoy hearing Dust in the Wind on Accordion. I am putting in the bass runs.

putting in more work than before. two-a-days, in StillerSpeak. You know, m like the Pixberg Stillers' trainin' camp an' 'at. What evs. It's a 'Burgh Thing. morning get 7, play onother 5 or 6. afternoon or around 7 pm, het the rest of the songs, rund some scales, and even do some old stuff like dream a little dream of me, spanish eyes, o sole mio, santa lucia. they are cliches, but the hands, they yearn for the familiar.

--

I am doing more desk work. each piece is annotated for Stradella. I puit in the sporano of the RH first unless mere inversions are readily apparent.

--

my fave chord is this wild purposefully disconsonant e nat-g-c# and eflat 8va it's a C& b3, wtretched out all Bill Evans-y.

--The best thing is that I have a feeling of discovery, attainment and accomplishment as I figure out how to play modern, relevant music on the greatest and hardest instrument of all: the 41/120 Piano Stradella Accordion.

--
Marines say, "Semper Fi!." Accordionists say, "Castel Fi!"

ALL PIRATES LOVE CONCERTINA MUSIC.
Well, I said before that I am a Piano Accordion Stradella bigot. No buttons for me unless they are on the southpaw side. (I pass the Dutchie on the Left-Hand side.) My criticism is that the buttons on R and L are indistinguishable and negate the need for understanding keyboard theory. At least the formerly-disparaged Piano Keyboard Accordion (PKA) qualified as a C instrument and a Keyboard, as in "Yes, Miss Trump, I play music. What Instrument? I play keyboards!" or, "I figured out a new song on my keyboard today, Ivanka."

My preference relates to the E and B phenomena where the half-steps go to die; or at least torment putative musicians before they fade away. W-W-H, W-W-W-H. The Bandoneon RH buttons of the Roland "b"s (3b, 7b) really take the notion of playing a machine and run with it. I choose not to bear that kind of guilt.

I must declare, that, as a Pirate I appreciate the Concertina as a distincly valuable Accordion precursor. Where freight is limited on an ocean going vessel, small apartment or international space station, size and weight are important. As an Accordion has or could be proved impractical, the Concertina must be considered as companion for the voyage.

I noted elsewhere that all songs are sailin' songs. In so doing, I thought that I indicated my favorable attitude toward the veritable concertina, however it does not harm anyone to re-iterate the point.

PITCH-BENDING, WAH-WAHING, FX DIRTYING, FUZZYING - ANYTHING BUT PRACTICING.
Q: How many guitar players does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: 5 - one to hold it in place and 4 to drink beer until the room spins

Q. What does it mean when a guitar player drools out of both sides of his mouth?
A. The stage is level.

Q: What do you call two guitarists playing in unison?
A: Counterpoint.

Q: How do you get a guitar player to play softer?
A: Give him a sheet of music.

BOX OF THE DAY

Excelsior, Circa 1944. During the wartime years, they were made in NYC.

DIDJA KNOW
That House Music is pretty daggone close to alternating bass polka music performed in a spritley 4-4 manner? Think of Katy Perry's lyric, "You're hot and you're cold, you're in and you're out, you're up and you're down . . . ."
I noticed this in July, 1984 whilst drinking and dawning in a proper Dance Club between the Great Russell Street Y and the Theatre District Shaftsbury Avenue Area with a certain Miss N. Tidy. And a neat one she was (and, hopefully, _is_) She was the girl with Faraway Eyes. Wake me up before you go-go. He travelled to Chicago to buy his Accordion from the Italo-American Accordion Company. He was a railroader for the PRR in its heyday. As an employee he could take free trips. So he went to see Charles Magnante in Manhattan and Chi-town. He also took the train around the Horseshoe Curve to take lessons in Johnstown, PA.
Magnante knew Gall-Rini and Galla-Rini knew the Brothers Diero; Pietro and Guido.
All of the afore-mentioned are Accordion Royalty and permanent residents of the Pantheon. I have a few things in my life of which to be proud, but none -including membership before the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States - is a greater source of pride than my connection, however tenuous, with those truly great Accordion legends.

BOX OF THE DAY

Borsini

ACCORDION WEBSITE OF THE DAY
http://www.accordion-o-rama.com/

BONUS BOX OF THE DAY

Charron Freres

STILL ON A GEORGE HARRISON KICK
Something is getting ready to fall. I practiced it over an hour tongiht alone. I have the thing pretty much arranged. I am proud that the song, while in C major, drops to Eb and eventually involves C#min with a G# alternating fifth. so from drows south of C to get the Eb I pass up Bb, F,C,G,D,A,E,B,F#,C# to G# = 12 of the 20 rows i maneuver. I am a big boy now. My New Orleans pally Bob Normann, Esq. sez the Harrison tune is considered by many to be the bestest, beautifullest song ever written. It has a couple bass runs and a nice little lead segment.

BOX OF THE DAY

Beltuna Leader Compact

MICHAEL JACKSON
The lad has been all over the news, As a musician I have a parlor game rule where I can only play one song from each or any artist. Stinge and Sheryl Crow and scant few others make me want to break the invisible rules. So imagine my surprise when, upon reflection, I don't really get excited by any of the Jackson songbook. I'll be there from the J5 days, probably Billie Jean for the eponymous bassline. Since his death took all the air out the room for any other musical discussion, I reflected on his contributions (beside high art dancing) and observed that he did mouth percussion during rest notes or for fills. A breathe-in like someone starting to choke or lose his breath preparing for coitus interruptus; the hoo-hah laugh which is probably about a seventeenth and a 14th - but another fill. quincy Jones produced a lot of his later recordings and must be given adequate credit. I looked at many of the MJU songs and found a lot of different writers and co-writers. Some had Streetnames. I recall a co-writing crdit due to a certain cat with the handle, "Screwface." Some of the other writing credits went to Terry who worked with Janet; Ms. Jackson to me.

NASTY
Since I've returned to playing the Bell I am happy that the Stradella fingerings are going pretty well. It's a full 120 compared to the Pancordion Tiger which is kind of toylike and more 7/8ths or Stroller-sized. A couple notes are out. like E in the second octave. all my boxes are dry-tuned. I would like to get a real musette sometime, but I am happy with my lot. I have an old Carmen and an International. They have been through a couple of my wars and look like it too. I will experiment on one by popping the pins and checking out the interior. But my Bell will need to be worked on by a craftsman deploying Steve Navoyosky rules. If I see a dremel tool I will sp[in on my heels and book. Hope to meet Genoudy Lazarov in Joisey and give him first dibs.

CERTAIN JE NOUS SE QUA
I dig Accordion Noir. They have a new bumper sticker called, "One less Guitar." Although it should be one "fewer" guitar, they have artistic license to use the language less goodly than me does. Of three gripes, there is that insignificant one, the bumper sticker has clip art of a bandoneaon or button accordion, which is a shame. But the real problem is there website uses a dark background an small print in a light color which makes it hard for me to read. I adoped Guy Kawasaki style rules circa 1988. keep it simple. Make it deep. Appear elegant. I would bitch at an orgy.

SWEDISH DEATH METAL POSTER OF THE MONTH

HOW YA FEELIN'?
Left shoulder's a little sore. big difference between the Bell and Pancordion. neck a little tight too. but i like the actual straps - Neotech - affixed to the Bell. the Tiger has some old straps jerry-rigged. i play that one loosely and never even look at the keys.

WHAT AM I WORKING ON
crazy by willie nelson and popularized by patsy cline is a great classic to have in the bag. lots of jumping on the Stradella; even with some engineering. Eb, then down two rows to Db then jumpp up 5 to C7. very sweet. every song has an obstacle. Crazy requires a move from Eb to Fm7 - easy enough, but in between an E dim is required. I pick of the E counterbass of C and play the diminished seventh chord from the C# 9i.e. Db) row via a 2-5 paneauver. I feel like a real pro when I play it. that song also features a Bb7#5, which is a type of animal I never dealt with before the New Intermediate School.
Happy Birthday or Happy Fathers' Day as the case may be. Hi Connie Sue and Kimmie.

I am doing well, soon to be free of all obligations and commitments except Accordion. Playing more regularly and practicing more. I hae a clarity of vision of what I want to do. The frequent discussions with other -usually Septugenarian- Accordionists often prove helpful. Each of the songs I play - and all are difficult songs - have one paramount obstacle that needs deskworked before it can be fairly played.

In everything. I am getting Stadella and then the melody. I usually try to get the song in before I add RH harmonies, letting the LH do the harmonic work and leaving RH for melody.

BOX OF THE DAY

Ottavianelli golen Pearl

ACCORDION GEHENNA
http://www.tedreichman.com/Ted_Downloads.html

THEORY MINUTE
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-the-seven-modes-of-music.htm
Discussion of the Modes

THE SOUND OF SHOVEL AGAINST BRICK

we have fresh snow in the southern mountains of Pennsylvania.

I have been cataloquing words conepts and phrases to fill a couple of books. I expect one day to rent a State (that's Commonwealth) Park cabin and have the snow falling with nothing but some essentials and a table dedicated to putting together someof the ideas thus far captured. songs. parts of songs. nore than loosey-goosey concepts. stuff that will be hard to decipher, but which I have often meaningfully interrogated for lyrics.

BOX OF THE DAY

Reverse Petosa

OVERTIME

I did a quite snappy and workmanlike 2.2 hours straight through, rounding down. I have a new song - although it breaks the one songwriter Rule - by the Late George Harrison: Something. how wonderful after all these years of ear-ing Something, to finally see its structure. I sight-read it and played it through. I like it and it sounds good.

I did Hotel C, Creep and some of those becoming familiar. Still skipped Kryptonite, but hit new songs Ohio and Is She Really. I now understand the notion of the "turn-aroound," which I comprehend to be quite dissimilar from the, "reach-around." Two turn around songs are Bittersweet Symphony and the aforementioned Joe Jackson joint.

COOL GUY NEWS

my BC Bud, he of the radiophonic Accordion Patois, approved of the previous Box Of The Day. This heartens bujo_tang to the point where he writes in the third person. It was an Ernie Felice Sonola all The Cognoscenti want to hear. Mr. Felice very popular in the post-Ernie Kovacs, pre-Ernie from MyThreeSons former century. Today's entry is one of Jersey Glazarov's carefully tuned machines.

BUJO_TANG_MOBILE

Tang Hua, Li Shi Guang Ming

WEIRD FINGERING

When sight-reading, the LH is the first and most challenging part. I am actually usually playing both hands together right from the start except for the harder pieces. I am jumping from the normal C bass all the way to B on occaision for a song like Creep, instead of doing it the IV part way. but I sometimes half-cheat by moving from C a half-step to B as the counter-bass of G, then quickly feeling for the indented B on the normal second row (actually Column) and making the fundamental and striking the chord that way. But I can make the jump shot.

the joe jackson turn around is F-Ab then up to Eb and Bb back to F then jumping again. I have backwards 2-5 diminished structures to hit in Krytonite and Creep and think that it will be part of my sound.

DEEP STRADELLA UNDERSTANDING

Confronting a Cm6 on a lead sheet, I was stymied. then I started thinking diminished work-around, as that will be part of my Sound. And such analysis necessarily involves dropping the Third and dumpring the Fifth completely and then inserting a dominant seventh which has been dropped an additional half-step. This gets to one of the serious roadblocks in Accordion Pedagogy: the 7th. In new IV-part harmony style, a major seventh is constructed with C + Em. The dominant seventh (C-E-G-Bb) lowers the seventh a half-step and is C = the on-board machined single c7 button. but the Seventh in a diminished chord is forther reduced not just to Bb, but to B Double-Flat - Or - A. So Cm6 is C, Eb and A. which is precisely what the C Diminished Chord will produce. Therefore, C minor 6th = C dim.

IF THE MOB THREATENS TO CUT OFF ONE FINGER, OFFER YOUR LEFT THUMB

Classically, Accordion is played with four left fingies and no thumb. HowButEver, if one appreciates that there are only 3 diminished chords (as diminshed chords are stacks of minor thirds) then certainly some fundamental note struck in the first two columns will match up with some available diminished row offering. Why not try the Left thumb for a diminished chord? Huh? Hmmmmn? Why not?

UP AND DOWN

Lots of F# min and even G# which I am playing up there let's see, (c) G,D,A,E,B,F#,C#, G# - eight rows up. No wonder I never tried to do this before. That's pretty far away from homeplate. I did F# minor scale - the one with the raised sixth being dropped on the descent along with the dropped seventh but kept third. it was stoopid and gooney but I just did it till I got it right. Ab major and minor is messed up for me that way. It's normal to think "up" a minor third but less familiar for me to think "down" a minor third. Ab seems so foreign, but i is as C:A.

SKELETON

the flatted seventh for the dominant seventh a fifth above the tonic is also the individual note which will be an accidental in the next row one forth down. so the flatted seventh in c will make for a dominant entry to the new tonic of F, whose accidental is Bb. Moving up, C has no accidentals and the G's lone accidental of F# is flatted into F natural. These are jumping off points like the old Q-bert game at the most rudimentary level. After knowing Vs I should know IV,s then iii and vi's. Sevenths are a special case. I am a Special Case. But, growingly, I have My Sound.

Since I have gone overboard with my Accordion mission to Modernity and established the New Intermediate School, I spend part of every day working out Accordion.
SINGLE MALT

i did a nice 50 minutes, hitting A new song or two hard and then about 7 more to finish. ran the Ab M, minor scales till i was self-conscious. thinKig more about thirds and sixths and inverses. you know, LH up a row is a fifth, down a row is a fourth. 5+4=9. from f to g or c to d is a ninth, at least in theory. but if i go from fundamentals for the I and chordations for the IX, it sounds. (i.e., play the fundamental C with a cut on it in the second somun and then the d min or maj chor triad without reference to the D fundamental or the C fundamental. As it sounds an octave up, it might approximate the major ninth interval)

learning SRV. studied it hard last night. It was simple, as it turns out. lots of octave-shirting. but, my how complicated that mofo looks whilst scanning mit der eyeballen fur einem augenblick. he is not yet on my music stand, but i drove to wallMart and bought some cellophane tape.

Scotch.
Invisible.
$1.82.

BUJO_TANG_MOBILE

Moller Skycar

ON DECK
Close to you. hard in eb or Cminor needs several obstacles remediated. great tune and will make the cut. from bacharach and hal david.

ohio by neil young. finally got to look at this. my reading for soprano or melody line is perfect - if slow and far from sight-reading like a pianist (who can look at her hands, afterall)'s ability. i can also read vertically which is to say chord structure, including in the bass cleff which seems such a trivial annoyance when considered apart from the Grand Staff, in connection with which it makes sudden sense.

I read horizontally well for melody and vertically well for chord structure. the weakest of the three - relating to melody harmony and rythm, is the last. counting is important and something under-stressed, except for drummers- for whom i imagine it is the only thing. i am good to the point of eigth notes. sixteenth notes with triplets and something means I should listen to a recording while viewing the sheet.
i say, "4 beats to the measure and every quarter note gets one beat or 6 beats to the measure and every eight note gets one beat" for 4/4 or 6/8 time, respectively, for example. I am a good boy. And every good boy does fine.

i play the major scale and its relative minor before every new song. whatever masochistic value it holds ( i assign it none) the exercises remind the fingies of where they should be unless there is an accidental corrected with a natural sign.
speaking of stevie ray vaughn, never before had i read of such things in E or A with 4 or 3 sharps, and then never playing one damned note sharp. seriously, they are naturalled if u play them and ususally the scales play all the other notes which are not sharped. trippy. i know a lot and i know nothing.

I again realized the worth of doing something for an hour a day for 30 days. i also realized how much better i can read with the book sitting on my chest and close to my eyeballs. i stell need classes with a new prescription.

msl has that weird chord change on stradella with some violent shifts to accomodate what, to my FeelMemory(sm) is F#min to Fdim (i.e. Ex or E double-sharp or Esharp Sharp, or, like i said to start with, "F") to C#7 whilest simultaneously doing that thar archtypal RH slur. i think i can do it better with one note than two. neither is acceptable now. it really needs a good slur and the slur can't be done with a partial chord descend across 4 sharps.

i find myself remembering all the songs more. yet to arrive at final playing arrangements, but MSL is firm

hotel C is pretty firmed up too
wonderful tonight is pretty all figured out
played creep it is ok except i want to put in some diminished chords at bellows attack for effect.

the joe jackson and others are just on sight read and stevie wonder, buddy guy and srv are on very studious desk work sked only.

Q: Why does that voice in my head suddenly speak with a British accent?
A: You are listening to too much Joe Jackson.

Am also up to also sight read Baker street, freebird, sweet home alabama. playing Abraham Martin and John but have not setled ion the arrangement. fascinating how different a minor is from , say, F maj 7. Too, there.

"I can see Castelfidardo from my window and watch to see what Berlusconi, over there, is up to."
--Sarah Palin,
Strapped, AK.

3 doors down and sheryl crow need lotsa work.

i figured that a 50 min hour per day for a month would do absolutely everything i need for a recordable baker's dozen.

have known that for a couple of years.

TALLY HO

Accordion start age 7
private lessons 12 y rs age 19
college music studies 2 yrs, 21
3 yrs law school and next 7 yrs, nuthin, age 32
years listening to the radio and imaginary accordioning 13
years playing air accordion 0
years test for cool

BOX OF THE DAY

Noble

GNR v. PRC

By CHRISTOPHER BODEEN

BEIJING (AP) - . . .Delayed since recording began in 1994, "Chinese Democracy" hit stores in the U.S. on Sunday, although it is unlikely to be sold legally in China, where censors maintain tight control over films, music and publications.

In an article Monday headlined "American band releases album venomously attacking China," the Global Times (China) said unidentified Chinese Internet users had described the album as part of a plot by some in the West to "grasp and control the world using democracy as a pawn."

The album "turns its spear point on China," the article said.

China's Foreign Ministry did not respond to faxed questions about the article, although a spokesman speaking on routine condition of anonymity said: "We don't need to comment on that."

. . .
The record's title track makes a reference to the Falun Gong meditation movement that was banned by China as an "evil cult" and warns "if your Great Wall rocks blame yourself," in an apparent message to the country's authoritarian government.

Monitors use content filters that highlight and sometimes block messages containing words such as democracy. That prompted some Internet users to combine English and Chinese characters in their postings about the album to skirt such monitoring.

. . .

Live performances are also closely regulated, with bands forced to submit set lists beforehand. The Rolling Stones were asked not to play several songs with suggestive lyrics during their 2006 China debut, including "Brown Sugar,""Honky Tonk Woman,""Beast of Burden" and "Let's Spend the Night Together."

Earlier this year, bandleader Harry Connick Jr. was forced to make last-minute changes to his show in Shanghai because an old song list was mistakenly submitted to Chinese authorities to secure the performance permit for the concert. Authorities insisted he play the songs on the original list, even though his band did not have the music for them.

That came just a week after Icelandic singer Bjork embarrassed authorities by shouting "Tibet!" at the end of a Shanghai concert, prompting stricter vetting of foreign performers.

EXCELLENT PLACES FOR TRANSCENDENT TRAVEL

the Masonic Temple, Altoona, PA, Third flr on the R
descending Ebensburg Hill on Rte 22 on the way back from Indiana
top of 867 running the ridge after where the sign says, "Utahville."
622 W. Chris Brown is a good dancer. Pink did an uninteresting song. Christina Aqua-Guillera has the best pipes i've ever heard and worst cosmetics i've ever seen. what is with the necrophila? wasn't heroin chic revolting enough? o'bama better do something.

ON TV

mtv has a new show FN as in fucking new. it still promises only one hour per week of actual videos. tuesday is the best time to watch the new rotation on vh-1 but it is on at 3 or 4 am. Deutsch Welle TV plays saturday mornings, and at 5:30 local time PopExport comes on. I learned that tokioHotel was the nextGreat Thing months ahead of the other kids on my block. The obvious drawing card for screaming girls is a pretty transgender boy lead singer. their music is innocuous enough and utilizes suprise chords on occaision. The country music ans American music awards came and went. I will watch the Grammys and probably the Latin Grammys for some actual entertainment. I still can't get over the Jimmy Kimmel where Lil Wayne rapped while wearing an electric guitar, then played a couple notes and looked at the crowd like they should be astonished.

LIVE MUSIC

listen to the best play live, without the FX and over-production as in everything spun from record or mp4s or cassettes or 8 tracks or whatever medium takes the wax these days. you will find that actual musicians play the same thing you do, and it really isnt' that hard. it couldn't be or else IQ90s that populate the popular culture's population couldn't propagate the plethora of improbable poop they produce.

FEELIN' FINE
and doing better on Accordion than ever before. still working onthe original baker's dozen. I have a few ProofOfPractice(tm) Accordion recordings over at AFF and still need to record another bit and upload to a designated dataHouse.

working up many Lyrics and some progressions and hooks. I need week at the lake this time of year (Autumn commenced gesterntag) with a large table a large pantry and a large mostly black dog. My fave spot - Rickett's Glen - doesn't allow Spot.

Life is long unless some chick causes the death of me. Or else I get electocuted; it seems perfectly sensible to adjust my bit of tast with a steel fork - or, alternatively, watch TV from the tub.

go with God. It confounds your enemies.

I've seen the latter before but never felt the interrogator/hostess to be so adversarial. Of value to the music scene was his thesis of The Different (and how it is not The Deficient). He provided for the differences in the percussion sections of Big Ten-style european cadence bands versus TBCU, i.e. traditionally Black colleges and universities' marching bands. Earlier, he had noted the predominance of first and third beats in 4/4 for SnowPeople and 2 and 4 for Sun People. Am I the only dude to play Reggae on Box? I did it in 1985. Marley. The Elder. My lawyer alter ego wants to franchise one of the offerings. Anyhow, I'm gettin' an order to go and the proprietor tells me who else is having a late lunch: it's Mr. Allianello's two surviving Sons. He was my teacher and his boys look like him. Even though the one cat is an cop and a real tough straight out of central casting, he has his gentle Father's face. The other Bro had shocking white hair and just looked like an accordion player. One has to have great confidence and ability to play the accordion. these guys are older than me and know that. They were both my Master's students - even as his son. We are Fratres of the David Allianello school.

SKED

Call it biorhythms, but my accordion project seems to be a month on, month off thing. i am a good lawyer and doing things differently in my practice, but i am not switching hats during the day. i need a whole day to be free of law worries to get any Accordion work done. or so it seems. and if i start early, there is the problem of practice noise. i can only start after 9 AM without courtin' trubble. by then i should be at my law desk.

I have been very productive with intellectual property. i have lyrics but not music written.

I still absorb IV-part stuff I7 ii6/7 iii7 IV7 V7 vi6/7 vii0 and I(8va); and the switch-over points at sharp 4 and flat 5, i am putting these things into songettes i have been playing for decades so as to fullly understand. i have to do that four part walking bass thing every day, because that is what dinstiguished a real knowledge-Player.

I figger something out every day, and am hearing well, and doing exercises away from the box. i need more desk time along with other things but need to hit hotel cali hard.

Radio playing day is due to return.
Spring has sprung and it is ok to play outside every now and again so long as it is not humid.

REPAIR NEWS

I heard where Aldo is back in New York and taking a few requests for repair jobs. how I wish I could have him tune my Bell. maybe autrograph the inside of the acetate chamber somewhere.

PROVENANCE, PLEASE?

J. It was about an unhappy industrial worker, and was titled, "Friday Night and Saturday Morning." It has a musical score from a cat named Sir Johnny Dankworth. He and his wife are still around. He blows jazz and she sings. But what caught my attention was the accordion in the soundtrack perhaps played by a dude named Rendell. tres chic and worth a get.

TWO PLACES AT WUNST
RockNRoll HoF announced its honorees in NYC. I thought the RRHOF was in CleveLand. Do they announce and play in MannyHanny and then repose in Erie Flats? I am confused.

AND

did MTV really need a two-week delay from the date of the performance until the date of the highlight show? An 8-second delay probably cOuld have worked. How many swear words does Iggy Pop even remember? Am I right, People? Don't get me started. Is this thing on? I'll be here Tuesday through Thursday, except for Wednesday. Try the eggplant parmigiana.

FOUR-FOUR TIME
when i was an adolescent visiting my Uncle Yush's retreat from his Cleveland Bar business in Tionesta, PA, I heard all the polkas and obereks I wanted. Of all the polkas, the one I would most want to hear again is the Carl Yastrzemski Hop Polka by Johnny Prytko & His Connecticut High-Tones. As most readers of this humble blawg know, I am not a polka afficionado; merely a diplomatic accordion player attempting to be perceived as an Accordionist.

HIPPIES, VAMPS AND TREES
Frank Marocco talked about vamps in his DVD MasterClass, but a neat explanation avoided me as all songs seem to repeat. AABAC or whatever involves the A repreating. but the Vamp is much more concise and I now thing of it as a dog chasing its tail. The chord dhanges are the essence of the Vamp. examples are Heart and Soul or, more relevantly, Sheryl Crow's new "Love is Free" or Michael Bubble's haunting, evocative "Lost."

GROUP SECTS
The NAA had its meeting in Richardon, TX. saw some pictures and a video. Some good players there. Sylvie Marie sings and plays. she does both well. I saw her on a nice Dino Baffetti apparently won by the Back-Ladian Canadian Len Imbery. There's another Sylvie last name Barber and I confuse them both with Linda from Seal Beach, but is nice even if vicarious to see Accordion enthusiasts get together.

ORGY OF SQUEEZE
Another meeting occured closer to home in Valley Forge, PA just outside Philly. Lenny Feldman and the Musicological crowd had a get-together. So there is Vegas, Richardson, Valley Forge, Leavenworth, Cotati, and New York, with Schimmel, Mainsqueeze and maybe the
Monsters. There should be a more formal calendar. I saw that Vegas is moving from June where it had been for a few years. good. vegas is hot in june. But Richardson sounded like a lot of fun.

Speaking of Richardon, Texas, the governor
of neighboring NewMexico, Bill Richardson, just endorsationized the upstart candidate. the next primary is in Pennsylvania. I am for the irish guy, O'Bama or something like that; i will save my rationale for private discussion. I called in to the statewide tv show with larry kaspar and axed whether the Real Son of Casey made an endorsement yet or if Mark Singel is the only dojo who had the balls to go all Bobby Kennedy.

FEELIN' LESS THAN FINE
I saw Chris Matthews try to dance his way onto the Ellen Degeneris Show. He looked like he was trying to strangle Miss Degeneris and/or grab her right breast: Not too politically correct as she is Lebanese, and I hear they don't go for that type of thing.

AND NOW, A NON-SEQUITOR
I do not think I look like P.M. Dawn, so it is good that no one ever suggests the resemblance.

BOX OF THE DAY

Luciano BelAire

LATEST
two songs are in for Test for Cool and more are on the way. Don't know anything about recording yet but need to put in a practice schedule because the pace is about to quicken. with Spring sprund, I won't have t baby my bellows so much. The sudio is the place where the cold air return for the building is situate. Life is coming together slowly but wellly.

St.Peter asked.
"Well, I can think of one thing," the man offered.
"On a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota, I came upon a gang of bikers who were threatening a young woman.
I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen.
So, I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed biker and smacked him in the face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground. I yelled, "Now, back off, or I'll kick the shit out of all of you!"
St. Peter was impressed .. I will take it.

SONG SELECTION

I was driving along, always mindful of the road and the best song available among my pre-selects, shen I head a Foo Fighter number that could be pulled off on a reedBox. It was almost percussive, but that would be part of the fun. and it could be driving and not at all novelty-ish.

Earlier in the day, I had come across one of Phil Braido's recent projects. this one was on uToob and i didn't go check it out immediately, but just looked at its title.

Well, the Fighters of Foo did a song called the Pretender sez the deejay. but wasnt't that also the song that Mr. Braido had done? I went to youTube 'cause seeing foo fighters with vocals would be newsworthy to my way of thinking.

Alas, Phil covered the Platters with a late 50s-type song as an instrumental. It was called the Great Pretender and the song i had confused it with was the Pretender. At first, I had thought it was a Tom Petty entry.

*  *  *  *  *

I don't know if my role is to create a little excitement or point the way in a more major fashion. I jsut want there to be an Accordion world and increasing interest in our mutual instrument. I am a piano-Stradella bigot and it hurts me to hear someone say that a bayan or button box is better. just because of the 4-3 half-step parallax.

. . . .

I will probably be rejected by those I most want to please. But some old-timers and classicists will tell I am early in each song and getting somewhere new and doing it with proper emphasis and use of only some of my tools.

I know a sax player can play "rough" or "dirty" Well, so can an Accordion player. But my playing on Creep and Wonderful2nite only suggests a player and certainly not an Accordionist. Still, dear MasculineDiary, progress is being made on Project Relevance: the new Baker's Dozen - -

Test4Cool.

Audacity

I need to read a brochure or something. it would be gorgeous, just Gorgeious to play and then sing over what i played and then beat on something for a drum track. then i could harmonize a backing vocal at the end of phrases. . . .

RUBBING TUMMY, PATTING HEAD

. . . and singing Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" available only on AFF. I sent the bosses another mp3. the rodording is innocent and buzzy and peaky and terrible, missing only the hisses and clicks of a Leadbelly wax session.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CORNER

"Castle Fi"

Whaddya think? Hmmmn? pretty good when you think about it. Hnuh?

It is a ge0-social reference amongst and betwixt Accordionistas to indicate, albeit cryptically, their shared enthusiasm for Accordion and its Italian progenitor City - Castel Fidardo.

The 'Castel' part is Americanized. Because I am an Amer-I-can; not an Amer-I-can't!!

(C), sm, and TM 02.27.08 and prior dates.

ACCORDION IDOL

To investigators of the Future and students doing sociology or musicology term papers in the year 4750, be advised that, as of yesterday, no American Idol Hollywood contestant has ever comped himself on Accordion.

ACCORDION SLANG

"Bruce Boxleiter" -- a suspected or actual Accordion thief.

BOX OF THE DAY

MasterSound Reedless

WHAZZAT?!?

kuwata mary j wanna blige heycat biggies

PEEeSyOU

Pianist Chick Corea and banjo player Bela Fleck, known individually for their genre-bending
tendencies, came together in concert Saturday, Feb. 16, in Penn State's Eisenhower Auditorium on
the University Park campus. Both the orchestra and grand tier were sold out, so the balcony was
opened as well. Fleck and Chick Corea first teamed in 1994 when Corea performed on several tracks
of Fleck's "Tales from the Acoustic Planet." The 2007 release "The Enchantment" is the duo's first
full-length recorded effort. It's built on a bed of jazz, but elements of classical, bluegrass and
more are blended into the stew. In addition to playing their music, Corea and Fleck entertained
the
audience with dialogue and banter between songs. Corea poked fun at both Fleck's music and his
own,
adding a welcoming flair of humor to the occasion. Between almost every number, the two conversed
in a casual, comical, engaging manner, with commentary about the music, the venue, the weather and
other topics. Corea also poked fun at Fleck's reading ability in reference to his difficulty in
pronouncing Corea's chart "Joban Dna Nopia," which is "Banjo and Piano" sort of backwards, before
they played it. For photos from the event, visit http://live.psu.edu/stilllife/1580 online.

ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG

RIP Walter Stevens III. You are not forgotten.

BOX OF THE DAY

Futurama

PUNK'D AT THE GRAMMY'S

This kid, lucky to get an award, starts to get played off the stage as his acceptance speech was not properly planned or concise. So he stage-whispers to the Director the impropriety of the music being que'd as he was just getting to the discussion of his recently-deceased Mum. So the music stopped.

Upon which little Kanye, who should be a sophomore by now, acted fresh, borish and boyish when, as the walk-off music re-cued he bragged into the Ether, "We run this thing."

I bet it's awhile til anyone shows him any slack.

WGA SCAB LIST (cont'd)

Cold Play (JK)
Sara Silverman (JK)
Rudy Giuliani (L)
John McCain (L)
Steven Baldwin (JK)
Tank Abott (JK)
Heidi Montag (JK)

Chris Bennett (JK)
David Gregory (L)
Puddle of Mudd (L)
Sia (JK)
Chelsea Handler (L)
Buckcherry (L)
Tom Green (L)

Maroon 5 (L)
Mary Lou Henner (JK)
Richard Roeper (L)
Shooter Jennings (L)
Wycleffe Jean (JK)
Arsenio Hall (L)
Seether (L)

Brian Williams
Doyle & Debbie
Nikki Taylor (CD)
Quincy Coleman (CD)
Ivanka Trump (JK)
Pamela Anderson (L)
Jay Thomas (JK)

Mary J. The disciplines are highly complimentary. my guilt complex is really yper-active to the point of neurosis. i have to be able to sit at the sudio rather than the law office on weekdays. but it helps to produce a little recorded something or make some real progress on a new number.

the hours flow at times but i am not strapped nearly enough. one of them there standing systems will have to be on my radar or at least shopping lest. i have this preconception that no free-standing accordion harness is going to satisfy my parameters.

the practice session is sent in to aff finally appeared. it is very rudamentary and received some early insult on First ground because it (Radiohead's "Creep") says "fucking special" as a lyric.

I knew I should have done Karma Police. Actually, I have no biznuss calling K West sophomoric when i posted something so raw; partly to bridge the Marty White Gap (MWG). I should put aside a few hours this week and quickly record one or two additional numbers for discussion just in case things turn ugly. clapton is sweet and about ready. iggle provide giggles. nothing fabuous, unforunately.

IDOL

Yeah, I am watching this time. This will be the second season I will have watched. they allow instruments this year for the first time, but no box. Simpsons had some Frank Marocco on it again, but you'd never know from the credit roll shown on Fox. You have to know. He did the rataqtoullie movie, but i didn't see it.

All in all, between IV part block chords and some little leads/counterpoint, what i am learning are runs and fills, the LH is handling the assignment. one and only one big failure is to construct certain diminished and augmented chords from existing chords. i will consider minor and sevenths with fifths out and re-attach the problem.

In short, I am writin less and working about the same but a lot smarter. Still using the Tiger with the Bell as a back-up. Looking at the old Carmen and another one called an International, as pin-pullin' prospects. I still cannot really visualize my second accordion - the red and white one which i think started with a C. It was a 120 bass. 3/4 size.

I have a lot of syrics work, a few musical body parts, dozens of copyright phases and a couple inventions since i last wrote. the natebaooks and scraps continue to expand and i am due for the photocoy studio for preparation of three-ring binders. I have yet to get the bifocals i need.

It is disorienting to wonder for twenty years how to play a song that is in the popular zeitgeist, then suddenly see its musical notation. I get a little, "Eureka!" and a huge"Well, it really can't be that simple! Harrumph!"

Yes, I actually say, "Harrumph" in my head.

On Creep, I overcame the last impediment having to due with the dotted note reast after the rist-punched cm7th around the point of the objectionable adjective.

I have this stooooopid dread-like translucent lucifidic impediment to revisiting MSL, which is about perfrect except where I switch up to g#. i have no vocals for that. i should have something for wonderful tonight though. hotel c needs a week at minimum. i need to proel myself.. thanks for listening.

The other obstacle to more frequent LJing is this site's inability to handle media directly. So i will set up a 4Share Account and post my music there. still don't know if i will need any other off-site buckets for other media.

Found the remote for my Sony digital camcorder. Can YouTube be far behind? You bet!

BANKS CLOSED

Happy Presidents' Day. I am flying the Flag.

Merry Christmas to those who dig the Prince of Peace. I am on a Gregorian calendar at the moment, Anglican angles withstanding but sublimated. So don't assume I procrastinate; I am just Hellenistic.
National (Episcopalian) Cathedral, D.C.

LONG TIME. NO BLOG.

I finally got some words down with playing a little. when i first got through Creep with RH, LH and voice and figgered out the audio and stuff with audacity. i got real excited and made an mp3 of what is really pretty raw. it unlikely to cause jealousy, which is one thing still alive in the Accordion world, because I paid attention to the vocal aspect more than the box-playing. my accordion playing would normally be embarrassing, but i just let myself be unself conscious and even styled a largely harmonic intro. the first verse was just some LH chords. rather than type this, i should just practice some more or cut a better version.

Creep by Radiohead has the word, "fuck" in it as an adjective, it has a simple but unfamiliar progression for typical old school accordion musik. and i am so sloppy it has the pornographic feeling. the key for procrastination may be to realize it is the function of the perfectionist. so play each song differently, add more as you get better at it and don't be embarrassed. often with Accordioinists, it is what you take out. I should take out ful chords and just play bass notes with a fifth up sometimes.

AUDIO IMBEDS
I still haven't figured out which data storage upload service to use. some dudes i know use 4share. so i won't put up anything here at LJ because they lack the capacity for direct storage. i will use a url pointer or whatever onest i figger fings auf.

BUJOTANGMOBILE

Platinum XL

WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE TO BE WALKING DOWN A STREET IN NORTHERN ITALY AND SEE NONE OTHER THAN FRANK MAROCCO? AND HE WAS HAPPY TO SEE YOU?

Taken during Be-Bop Deluxe Sessions

BOX OF THE DAY

STORICCI

PRO-LABOR ACTIVIST PARENTHETICAL TANGENTIAL ASIDE

bujo_tang is friend to workers, most dogs and a few restless women. so he supports the West and East coast writers who are striking under the National Labor Relations Act, as amended and re-enacted. Whether you call it Taft, Hartley, or Taft-Hartley; hardly dunt matter atall, so it don't. there's One Rule to Remember: honest men and Musicians don't cross picket lines. Not ever. He should know better, what with all his Bolshevik associations. Al Sharpton and Ron Paul hurt their own reputation in many eyes. Ivanka Trump will now never get a marriage proposal from me. I know, I seem harsh and even unfairly vindictive, but she sealed her own fate, as I couldn't bear to tell the children that their Mother was a http://london.sonoma.edu/Writings/WarOfTheClasses/scab.html. I lose esteem for even the likable Scott Baio for the thoughtless act of Scabbery. Velvet Revolver, one of my fave bandz, appeared on Kimmel's west coast show on a live remote from Times Square in Mannyhannie. so they are clearly excluded from technical Scabitude, although their behavior was Scabatory. I obey the Tree fruits Doctrine and acknowledge the prohibition of secodary activity. But a Brother can still respect the fucking line. Bring a pizza. play a song, stay for the tv crew, sing another song, then leave without crossing the line. that's what a fucking American would have done from 1946 until 1976.

the quality of the acts will increase MORE and MORE on craig ferguson and decrease on leno and the other hypnocritz. leno is now using little kids and their science projects to break the writers' strike. shameless. if the hospital is on strike, the candystripers are scabs, Man. like when he was eavesdropping on the phone in the movie, "Lateshift." no, not the one with shelly long in the morgue with fonzie. wtf? necrophilia. maybe some of those "writers" should stay out on strike. you know who you are.

Solidarnosc!!

NOTES FROM THE PRACTICEFIELD

Of the original 13, I think I have Creep, Wonderful Tonight, MSL going on three burners. some vocal, some bass lines, some IV-part LH, some melody and obligata on RH.
